The scope of work included the supply, installation, programming, and commissioning of a replacement ABB Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for the main engine MAN B&W Alpha cylinder lubrication system. All works were executed in accordance with MAN Energy Solutions manufacturer guidelines, applicable classification society requirements, and relevant marine and electrical standards.

The VFD was fully integrated with the vessel’s existing power distribution and control systems to provide accurate speed control of the Alpha lubrication pump, reduce mechanical stress on system components, and improve overall operational efficiency. The installation included all required electrical connections, parameter configuration, protection and alarm settings, and interfacing with the existing engine control and automation systems.

Comprehensive testing, calibration, and commissioning were carried out to verify correct operation, system reliability, and compliance with operational and safety requirements. Upon completion, the MAN Alpha lubrication system was handed over ready for service, ensuring optimized performance, enhanced operational control, and reliable cylinder oil delivery
